We all need to be a bit more kind to ourselves. Don’t you think? Because February is the month of love, I thought about loving yourself more. Turning that negative narrative into your best friend. For this months bullet journal theme I chose self care and self love as my theme. The funny thing is, filming this video was such a struggle! I got the flu last week, so my voice is still weird. I messed up a lot of elements on each page, I had to fix a lot. But hey, note to self: Not everything has to be perfect. 😉
I have been hesitant to film this video, because my storage and organization for my art supplies is far from where I want it to be. I have to remind myself from time to time that not everything has to be Pinterest/Instagram perfect. This is reality, and hopefully my new space in our new house will be a little bit closer to my dream studio… Who knows ;).
WHOOP WHOOP! Yes, TristArtist is 1 year old! On the 8th of January 2018 I started my own business. I never thought I would because I was scared of the unknown (I still am sometimes), but I am soooo glad that I did it! It had been quite a journey I must say. Figuring out Etsy, customer service, building a website and portfolio, figuring out how taxes work and how you write offers and invoices. As a perfectionist I always wanted to know what to do beforehand, but now I learn as I go. And to celebrate this all with you I wanted to host a giveaway!
Some of you might have seen these stickers already, through my Instagram or shop (you might have already bought them, thank you!). These Thorns & Roses stickers I made as a Christmas present for a customer. I think they turned out great! I am using them for my own bullet journal right now, they suit my Fortune Teller theme really well.
Can you believe it is almost 2019? I sure do! I have been working on my set up for the month of January 2019 for a while now. The plan for this monthly has been brewing for two months or so and I am so excited to see that everything turned out so amazing! I made a new printable and sticker set to go with my theme as well, so you can enjoy it for yourself! Click on the links below and shop the items for in your own journal.

Hello beautiful people! I just wanted to let you know that there are some new goodies available in my shop! I added some new cards and stickers. One of them is this majestic set of fortune teller stickers. Aren’t they cute!? I can’t wait to use them myself, haha. I think I will use them for my January theme so make sure to keep an eye out for that.
In this vlog I am showing you some behind the scenes of my life. Would you like to know what I do on a day as a freelance illustrator? Want to know how I make my Etsy orders? Make sure to watch this video! Also, I unboxed an amazing lamp by BenQ which helps me a lot with filming.
Nope, this is not a normal Plan with me Bullet Journal video. I asked my husband to do my voice over! While I am writing this, I haven’t listened to it yet and I am so curious, haha. I better start editing after this. Oh, by the way, I also made a new bullet journal printable with the theme Magical Forest for November. You can see how I use it in this video. I hope you like it! This Vegan Friday I am not sharing a main dish recipe with you. This time, I share a little recipe of one of my favorite easy-to-make-treats: Chocolate Peanut Brittle! This cosy heart (and stomach) warming snack is soooo good! Perfect to serve with chocolate chip cookies and a warm cup of tea. Let me tell you, you have got to try this!
In this little behind the scenes video I show you how I make my illustrations for the upcoming bullet journal printable for November. If you like to practice your watercolor painting, just grab a cup of tea and your stuff, get comfortable and watercolor with me!
When I saw these clear stamps from Action on a Facebook group, I almost ran to the store to get them. I love making spreads and as you might know I take my time, with making them, but it can be nice to speed things up a little by using stamps. In this video I show you how I use these clear stamps in a weekly spread. I hope you like it!
I love watching routine videos, they just motivate me tons! So, today, I am sharing my morning and night routine with you, but in quite a different way… Bullet journal style! I hope you like it. BUY YOUR OWN STICKERS HERE
Who else is loving these autumn days? Here in the Netherlands the weather is pretty good! While I am writing this post the sun is shining brightly through my windows, creating a warm sensation on my skin. The colors of the leaves are changing and I love wearing warm perfumes like Midnight Ivy (Limited Edition) from Victoria’s Secret. The autumn feelings are also here because I am rereading the Harry Potter series. Why is it that this series feels like an autumn read? I have no idea, but it does, haha. Another favorite of mine are the wireless Sudio headphones. I love how convenient it is. I can listen to music while vacuuming, or call my best friend while doing the dishes. Yes, I am a neat-freak, haha, but I also love using them while I work on my art or bike to the gym. The Sudio Regent design is so sleek it feels more like an accessory sometimes. It also comes in a white, which I also really like. It was a very hard decision choosing between them, haha. In the end I chose the black one, because it would suit me better. Especially with my outfits and hair color. What…
A few months ago I watched the documentary Plastic Ocean on Netflix. This was definitely an eyeopener for me, I realized we are ruining our planet with tremendous speed. I wanted to do something about it. The easiest way to help the environment is to start with yourself, being more aware of the products you use and the waste you produce. I challenged myself to buy less plastic and eat more vegan food. Eating (more) plant based is not that hard, but living a zero waste lifestyle… Wow. That’s a real challenge! These days everything comes in plastic. It’s crazy! I wanted to share my favorite zero waste products with you because there are probably a lot more people like me, who want to make a change but don’t really know how or where to start. I hope this video is informative and helps you out with keeping our beautiful planet clean.
Having a necklace party is very popular. No, I am not talking about having some kind of Tupperware party where you sell necklaces or something. I am talking about layering different kinds of dainty necklaces. Mixing and matching chokers, pendant necklaces with longer and shorter ones is very trendy. With Names4Ever you can personalize your own necklace party and I will be giving a letter necklace away to one of you!
I am soooo ready to show you this new project I have been working on for a while. I made new bullet journal stickers and a free printable for your Autumn Bullet Journal! If you know me well, you know that I love sushi. I love to go out for sushi, but I also make it at home from time to time, as you can read here. Now that I got better at it, I found great new combos for vegan sushi and I am able to prepare it faster, I still find that it takes a bit of time. So when I saw this amazing picture of a sushi bowl from Soy’nCherry on Instagram and got inspired. It is easy and quick to make, so you can eat your delicious food sooner.
